Cell Phones Do Buyers' Walking For Them

New mobile devices save home shoppers from riding around on weekends with a newspaper and a map.

Here are a few of the companies delivering real estate listings to smart phones:

Trulia.com Mobile. This application for iPhones and other smart phones, including some BlackBerry, Ericsson, Motorola and Samsung models, can pinpoint nearby locations so buyers can search for open houses and listings without typing in specific addresses.

Terabitz Mobile. Terzbitz offers mobile listings for iPhones that search for Intero Real Estate Services and Frontdoor.com, the listings site operated by Home and Garden Television (HGTV).

REALTOR.com Mobile. This downloadable product for iPhones and some other smartphones lets users search listings and includes a “homes Near By” featurs that will search in a 10-mile radius based on where the user is.

HomeFinder. This iPhone application from Alexander Mobile draws listings from the Google Base database, which incorporates some but not all of the nation's MLSs.
